Watch out for the sheep on the way inThis looks like a good place to go but could do with more details, like when and where to see the platypus. Has a good layout and nice viewing platform s
Needs better sign posts / directions, also no toilets. Drop toilets could be a help. Need to go at either dawn or dusk to see the platypus in the wild.
I come here fairly regularly, but last saw the smaller mainland platypus during the day in July 2014. It can be difficult to make them out if there is a wind blowing or if people of vehicles have been moving around in the area (they are exceptionally sensitive to any type of movement in this area).Bring a pair of field glasses and be patient - you may have more luck than i have had recently,
It is recommended to come either in early morning or late afternoon to see platypus. We were at 10 am and have not seen them. But the place is nice.
Went at dusk, didn't see any platypus. Went back at dawn and saw three or four swimming around. Successfully saw platypus in the wild, that's a five star reserve.
